Judy Baker, B.Sc, MBA

Founder, CEO & Director

Judy Baker has 28 years of extensive experience in the mining and resources markets. In 2015 she founded and provided the initial capital to Argo Gold, where she serves as President, CEO and Director. Prior to Argo Gold, Ms. Baker was the founder, director and CEO of Superior Copper where $3.5 M in capital was raised for copper exploration at the Coppercorp Mine Project in Ontario and the Rivière Doré Project in Quebec. Previous to this, Ms. Baker was a consultant for American Lithium Minerals and was responsible for acquiring the Borate Hills boron lithium project in Nevada and having Japan Oil (JOGMEC) invest $4 M to drill the 350 M ton project and advance it through the pre-feasibility stage.  Ms. Baker also served as the President, CEO, director and the founder of Canada Lithium where she was instrumental in restructuring the prior company debt, raising $8 M in capital and strategically positioning the company in lithium business; including acquiring the Quebec Lithium project and initiating lithium exploration in the Great Basin of the United States. Ms. Baker served on the board of Nemaska Lithium from 2009 to 2018.  Ms. Baker holds an Honours B.Sc. Geological Engineering in Mineral Resources Exploration from Queen’s University (1990) and an M.B.A. from Ivey Business School (1995).

Frederick William (Bill) Nielsen, BASc, P.Geo


Mr. Nielsen is an accredited geologist with over 35 years of worldwide mineral exploration and development experience. Most recently he served as President and CEO of Kombat Copper from 2013-2016. Prior to that he served as VP Exploration for Crocodile Gold from 2011-2013 and for Nevsun Resources from 1997-2008. From 2003 to 2008, Mr. Nielsen was the Vice President of Exploration for Nevsun Resources Ltd., where he played a significant role in the discovery of the Bisha gold-VMS deposit in Eritrea.

Paul Olmsted, BASc, MBA


Mr. Olmsted has been an executive in the gold mining industry for the past 15 years and has been active in the mining industry for 30 years. He currently serves as the CFO of Superior Gold, prior to that he served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at IAMGOLD Corp. From 2003 to 2014 Paul was responsible for IAMGOLD's acquisition and divestiture program to achieve its strategic growth objectives. He was instrumental in the technical evaluation, financial analysis and structuring for the significant corporate transactions undertaken during his tenure. In 1996, Mr. Olmsted joined Repadre Capital Corp., a royalty resource company, and was responsible for corporate development activities until IAMGOLD's acquisition of the company in 2003. From 1991 to 1996, Mr. Olmsted was part of Bank of Nova Scotia’s corporate lending group specializing in mining finance. Mr. Olmsted holds a BASc. in Mining Engineering and an MBA from Queen’s University.

George Langdon, B.Sc, M.Sc, MBA


George Langdon studied geology at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he took BSc., MSc and PhD degrees between 1978 and 1996. He joined the petroleum industry as an exploration geologist in 1980, and worked for majors Hudson’s Bay Oil and Gas in Calgary, Saudi ARAMCO in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and Mobil Oil Canada in Toronto, until 1999. Since that time he has acted as a consultant for, and has been involved in the development of junior public companies in the oil and gas sector, especially in eastern Canada, including Canadian Imperial Venture Corp. (TSXV-CQV) in western Newfoundland, and Contact Exploration Inc. in New Brunswick.  In 2006 he became the founding President of Shoal Point Energy Ltd. (CNSX-SHP) where he served until June 2013. Dr. Langdon was co-responsible as President and lead geologist for the company’s amassing a land position of some 720,000 acres in which it owns a 100% interest, and for negotiating a joint venture which aims to see up to 10 wells drilled over the next 3 to 4 years to assess this massive play, which has the potential to impact the energy balance in eastern North America over the next several years.

Chris Irwin, LLB

Corporate Secretary & Director

Mr. Irwin is a principal of Irwin Lowy LLP, a Toronto based law firm specializing in Corporate and Securities Law. Between 2004 and 2006, he was associated with Wildeboer Dellelce LLP. From 1998 to 2004, he was associated initially with Boyle & Company and subsequently with Power Budd LLP. Presently Mr. Irwin is a director and/or officer of several public companies. Mr. Irwin was Corporate Secretary for Kinbauri Gold Corp. from 2004-2009. Mr. Irwin received his Bachelor of Arts from Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec in 1990 and his Bachelor of Laws from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 1994. He has been a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada since 1996.
